I am a contemporary artist living and working in Pittsburgh, Pa. I received my degree in Art History from Duquesne University, and aside from a few informal drawing classes, I am a self taught artist. Since childhood I have been drawing, painting, and generally experimenting with any media I can find. Over the past four years, I have focused on painting, and recently delved into multi media pieces that incorporate natural fiber and decorative paper .
My inspiration comes from anywhere and anything, from a modest piece of fruit, to the complexities of the human figure. I always keep my compostions "uncluttered", prefering to draw out emotion through simple line, texture, and color. I don't put much detail in my work; I like to keep my paintings broadly representational, and let the viewers fill in details with their own imaginations. I guess you could say I subscribe to the "less is more" school of thought.
